Leadership Vermilion
The Leadership Vermilion program was established by the Vermilion Chamber of Commerce in 2014 to develop informed, engaged, and committed community leaders who are dedicated to strengthening Vermilion Parish and enhancing the quality of life for its residents.
Through education, leadership development, and hands-on community experiences, participants gain a deeper understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing Vermilion Parish while building the skills and relationships needed to make a lasting impact.
Program Goals
Leadership Vermilion serves as a pathway for developing the next generation of community leaders. Participants gain valuable knowledge, broaden their perspectives, and establish meaningful relationships with leaders throughout the parish.
Participants benefit from:

- An expanded network of business, civic, and professional contacts throughout Vermilion Parish.

Selection Process
Leadership Vermilion welcomes nominations from businesses, public and private organizations, civic groups, community leaders, and individual citizens.
Applicants are selected based on demonstrated leadership ability, professional or community achievements, a commitment to the future of Vermilion Parish, and a willingness to actively participate in the program.
Each November, the Leadership Vermilion Steering Committee selects a class of up to 20 participants, representing a diverse cross-section of the community in occupation, experience, age, gender, and background.
Applications for Leadership Vermilion open each October.
The Program
Leadership Vermilion is a nine-month leadership development program that begins with a Welcome Orientation in January.
From February through October, participants spend one full day each month exploring the many aspects of Vermilion Parish through presentations, panel discussions, site visits, field experiences, and interactive learning opportunities.
The program provides participants with a comprehensive understanding of the people, organizations, industries, and issues that shape our community while preparing them to become effective leaders in business and civic life.
The Leadership Vermilion experience concludes with a graduation ceremony held each October, celebrating the accomplishments of the newest class of community leaders.
